Donut eaters unite!
Buffalo has a new cop.
We're not saying he's a donut eater. It's just that the moniker seems to stick to the concept as the sticky glaze of a glazed donut sticks to the donut itself.
Yup, you heard it.
You've read about it at Inside Buffalo.
Many had forseen it - Now it's happened.
Shawn Stoddard, the revered Love's Country Store manager of years, EMS worker and prior Sheriff's deputy has been hired by the Town of Buffalo to do their code enforcement and copping.
At a specially convened Town Board meeting last evening, wherein Ms. Harper, after a while, properly recused herself from the meeting, the remaining Board members voted to install Mr. Stoddard as the new Police Chief and Code Enforcement Officer for Buffalo.
So here's the question...
If Mrs. Harper, who simply supervises Mr. Stoddard as the EMS director, BUT! has nothing to so with his firing, hiring, disciplining, etcetera, recuse herself, when one of the people actually responsible for his hiring, firing and disciplinary actions - one serving on the board of the EMS district, appointed by County of Harper to oversee the EMS, Robin Daley, not recuse herself or abstain from voting?
Just wondering.
The vote for hiring the new Police Chief passed 3-1 with Robin Daley voting for the hiring of the chief. Why not? She's his boss. WAS his boss.
Buffalo's Mayor, Lewis Carpenter, cast the lone negative vote against the hiring of Shawn.
