Motion rescinded
Wednesday January 21, 2009
Buffalo Oklahoma

Two weeks ago the Town Board of Buffalo Oklahoma voted to move the Police Chief and Department to the Buffalo Municipal Airport.
The Town Board took the action to move the new Chief and his department without either discussing or contacting any of the pilots. More importantly, the Buffalo Trustees failed to inquire of the Airport Board of Directors.
A Board representative was on hand tonight when the motion, having been originally voted upon and passed, was rescinded.
Buffalo Trustees are looking at other options since the old police offices and headquarters were incorporated into the proposed Harper County Community Hospital’s clinic for Dr. J. Snider.
The rear of City Hall, which originally housed the Buffalo Police Department, is currently under remodel using taxpayer’s dollars, to accommodate the Hospital’s newly acquired Doctor.
Other options being considered for the relocation of Buffalo’s police department is the rear of the Library on Turner Street. The trustees were taken on a tour of the rear of the building by a local citizen familiar with the facility this evening.
Hopefully, the new Chief has a sense of humor because it’s apparent to some onlookers at tonight’s meeting that he’s being relegated to the ‘rear’ as locations discussed all seemed to point to the “rear” of somewhere.
It’s unlikely that another location will “rear” its ugly head in the future.
