I Pledge allegiance...

Ever wonder why the Town of Buffalo fails to conduct the "Pledge of Allegiance" before their Town Board Meetings?

I once saw on the Buffalo Blog where someone quoted the number of times a search appeared for a phrase or topic so we researched on YAHOO the following:

136,000 for: pledge of allegiance board meeting oklahoma

What that means is that those words are referenced on 136,000 pages found on the Internet.

We scanned through the first few pages and found the minutes of meetings from all around the Nation, including hundreds (maybe thousands but we stopped looking after the first 100) from the State of Oklahoma where the Town Board, Town Council, City Council or whatever form of government there was, including school districts and other government board meetings, showed evidence of conducting the Pledge of Allegiance before their meetings.

This author has attended countless Board meetings from Corporate to Government, including State, Federal, and local. As the past President of a city Business Alliance I was responsible for leading the attendees in the Pledge. Having been a State Chairman on President Bush's Small Business Council I participated in the Pledge before our meetings on every occasion. Every meeting that I have attended, including Laverne Oklahoma's and neighboring Towns and Cities the Pledge has always been profferred prior to said meeting with the exception of Buffalo.

Just wondering...

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation under God,
indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.
